Many of us are looking to provide some new life for old and tired house decorations. As we began to leaf through home decorating magazines, we fell in love with couches, tables, new dining rooms, bedroom furniture, bath tubs and kitchenware and colors.
Oh, that amazing color! The new trend uses a row of colder gray shades instead of warm beige shades like neutral wall paint that goes back into the home decor. Here are four ideas that can help you decide where this will fit in your home.
Some of the questions that need to be asked are: Will the color be the main back drop of your room, or just the accent color? If it is the main back drop for your room wall there are lots of soft, pastel like gray that look awesome. Gray can be a very soothing and calm color and really elegant.

– In a living room environment, the pale gray shades of gray can be very calm and elegant when trimmed with either an opaque white or a sophisticated pale cream. No need to replace any carpet or beige sofa or any wooden furniture because gray will only praise them. The touch of color you can add can range from bright yellow to red apples to wine.
Persimmon, peach, navy, turquoise and deep emerald green or even lime color work very well with this back drop. Adding a flower vase (either the color of the flower vase or flower) in one of your chosen accent colors and the pillar or two-colored candles at the appropriate candle holder will give the right touch and elegance to your room.
– In the bedroom there are some beautiful pale gray colors, with just a little lavender, which can make the room seem completely transformed into a quiet place. A soft white piece is a wonderful compliment. Add new entertainers with a silvery touch in color and pillows in deeper lavender colors and some with deeper gray and voila! You have created an elegant quiet room.
Want to bring a notch up note? Use turquoise instead of deeper lavender for accents. Add a vase of flowers with some purple flowers, on a dressing table, to a turquoise and silver ensemble for real pop. Still quiet but full of sophistication.
–The bathroom can be carried from ho hum to the spa as it uses sage shades (gray in green) and creamy white trim or gray slate (gray with blue) with glossy white trim.
– The kitchen can be benefited if the gray is used as an accent and not the primary background color. Have brown wooden cabinets and stainless appliances? A soft gray and white backsplash, walls painted in peach, pumpkin or bright yellow with a charcoal base board can take the room into the twentieth century.
Cabinet and equipment are white? Then your choice is almost unlimited if you remember pairing gray with a pop of color.
Choosing the right shade for you can be difficult so the best thing to do is choose some of the gray color variations you think and invest in paint samples.
Also buy a stick. Use this for your sample painting area and place it in the room you want to change. Be sure to study samples not only during the day but also on the kind of lighting you use at night. The difference can sometimes be dramatic and you’ll be very happy if you take the time to do it.
